Spoiler alert: if you tell me you’re planning a Key West elopement, I may just jump in your suitcase just so I can see another epic Key West sunset. Case in point is this stunning sunset Key West elopement at Smathers Beach! Kari and Ben knew that they wanted a beach elopement that was simple and sweet, focusing the day solely on each other and on the beauty around them while staying in beautiful Key West. No guests – just the two of them. And it was perfect.
The couple shared their first look at Fort Zachary Taylor Historic Park, which had beautiful ocean views and was less than 10 minutes from Smathers Beach, where their ceremony took place. I was completely obsessed with their wooded area, when the sun shone through the trees, they were enveloped in this warm, golden light (you can scroll below to see what I’m talking about!).
We arrived to Smathers Beach and walked until we found a spot that felt like a perfect fit for their beach ceremony. They shared vows as the sound of waves gently crashed into the shore, and had the most beautiful backdrop of the crystal blue waters. It was simply breathtaking – I urge every couple who’s looking to elope in Key West to plan a Smathers Beach elopement ceremony – you won’t regret it!
After their ceremony, we popped champagne to officially begin the celebration of their Key West elopement! The sunset colors we had that evening were just unreal – vivid swirls of violet and blue, giving way to deep oranges and red. We stayed on the beach, enjoying our drinks while lounging under palm trees. It was the picture-perfect ending for the most beautiful couple who decided they wanted to elope in Key West, and nobody deserved this day more than Kari and Ben!
