Have you ever met a couple who is so at ease with one another that it clearly feels like destiny that they’ve found one another? Enter Victoria and Jo as Exhibit A. They didn’t want anything too fancy on their wedding day: just themselves, a handful of cherished family members, and a quiet celebration, which is exactly what they got. And let me tell you, their Savannah elopement at the beautiful Chande Pines was absolutely perfect in every way. It was chilly but we had the warmest, softest light and were really able to soak in the moments, and it made for the most beautiful wedding day.
Victoria is an artist – she even made the illustrations on her leather jacket all by herself – and she had the most incredible style on her wedding day. Seriously, I wish I could be as cool as her! She knew she wanted to wear something different for her elopement, and she absolutely knocked it out of the park. The babydoll dress, the white lace-ups, the killer jacket – her look was just the cherry on top of an already incredible day.
After an intimate ceremony, we hung around Chande Pines and enjoyed golden hour, snapping photos along the way. We ended our time together with a private first dance, which I always recommend to my couples who are eloping. Just because you’re not getting married in the traditional way doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate some older wedding traditions!
That’s the beauty of eloping. No rules, no right or wrong – just love.
