You know that feeling when you first meet someone, and you immediately feel a deep connection to them, almost as if you’ve been friends forever? That’s how it was with Ann and Brad. These two were head-over-heels for each other, with upbeat, infectiously positive attitudes — exactly the kind of couple who wouldn’t matter what the weather looked like the day of their wedding, they just wanted to be married, and that was that.
Because their day called for storms, we decided to initially take shelter under a wooden gazebo on Tybee beach’s boardwalk and hold their ceremony there. After the ceremony, we’d get daring and go down to the beach. Their ceremony was intimate and beautiful, and you could feel the emotion of the words they each spoke. As the raindrops came down, they shared their first kiss and celebrated finally being husband and wife. We ventured out of the gazebo, and were met with overcast skies but absolutely GORGEOUS lighting for photos. At one point, the rain was pounding down, but all I remember is hearing Ann and Brad’s laughter and downright happiness. That’s the kind of love I’m here to capture.
