Having a Cumberland Island wedding means a few things: first, you can’t take a bad photo anywhere on the island. Next, you can expect sweeping views, very few crowds, and nature every which way you turn. But chances are, if you’ve looked up Cumberland Island photography, then you probably already have a good idea of what this place is all about. Whenever I get to shoot a Cumberland Island elopement or wedding, my heart skips a beat – it’s one of my favorite spots in all of Georgia because it’s so exclusive and breathtaking, which is a pretty fantastic combo.
Mackenzie and Leif decided to come to Savannah prior to their Cumberland Island wedding, where they got glammed up before our ferry ride. (And that’s another thing: the trip to the island is always a fun addition to your day, and I capture sweet and candid moments on the ferry so that you remember all the excitement and anticipation!)
Once we got to the island, the couple changed into their wedding attire and had their first look. I just have to add here that Mackenzie’s wedding dress was an absolute jaw-dropper! Just because you’re eloping doesn’t mean you can’t go all out with your attire 😉
We had ourselves a little picnic, saw some wild horses, and headed to the ruins where the couple shared heartfelt vows as the sun shone down. It was the epitome of a perfect Cumberland Island wedding day: a warm breeze, golden light, and so. much. love. I’ve you’ve been considering a Cumberland Island elopement or wedding, stop just thinking about it and go ahead and make it happen! And, if you want to learn more about how I can make your elopement experience one to remember, go ahead and drop me a line so we can plan your best day ever!
